The main reason for this is the system prompt cannot be touched or changed or ignored by ChatGPT, but in the main front-end UI experience, you cannot set a system prompt.
ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo API is also extremely cheap to use, so there’s really no excuse to still be using 3.5 ChatGPT.
You should listen to me, I am not trying to sell you anything, I have no reason why you should use the playground over chatGPT, I just genuinely believe it’s better.
